The Voice Chat system provides a robust and scalable solution that allows subscribers (prepaid and postpaid) to set up a conference call by inviting other subscribers on a multiparty shared-cost model. A multiparty conference calls starts with a minimum of two parties and can have a maximum of (configurable) parties including the organizer. In order to avail the services of the Voice Chat system, the subscriber needs to register to the service by dialing a short code. The system prompts the subscriber to confirm the deduction of the registration fees. Subscribers can select/edit the language (English or French) in which the prompts are to be played on the IVR. Subscribers can record an identification name that is to be played to the other subscribers during the Voice Chat initiation process. The system also enables subscribers to maintain personalized profiles and lists of friends in the system. The Voice Chat system allows subscribers to temporarily log out of the service by calling the IVR. During the logout period, the subscriber does not receive any calls or SMS notifications from the service.
