Sadaiyappa Vallal a 12th century landlord and a Pannai kula chieftain of Kongu Vellalars from Thiruvennainallur. He was known for his philanthropic activities. He was a patron of Tamil National Poet Kambar who created Kamba Ramayanam also known as Ramavataram. Kambam praised him in his epic in ten places as a mark of his deep sense of gratitude. Kambar describes in his epic the lineage of Sadaiyappa Vallal originating from Ayodhya, the birth place of Lord Rama and belonging to the same Suriyavamsa, Ikshvakukulam as Ayodhya ruler Lord Rama but of the Gangakulam as Lord Rama belongs to the Raghukulam.
